PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Centene Corporation (NYSE:CNC) a national leader in the healthcare services field and Sandata Technologies, LLC, an industry leader in technology solutions for long term support services, announced the execution of a national agreement for Sandata to provide technology solutions for Centene's Home and Community Based ("HCBS") programs. Centene's decision to designate Sandata as one of its Home Care technology partners is based on their focus of increasing compliance to care plans, improving quality of service for their members, and increasing overall program efficiency within their home care provider networks. The Sandata solution suite provides Centene's staff the ability to document home care visits electronically and actively monitor home care services in both real time and retrospectively which aids in compliance, claims accuracy, and eliminates inappropriately billed services. Together, with Centene's use of telephone, mobile GPS and other technologies, these solutions will drive increased quality by ensuring members receive appropriate services and reduce the costs associated with fraud, waste and abuse. Sunshine State Health Plan (Sunshine Health), a subsidiary of Centene, Corp. located in Florida will be the first of Centene's local plans to launch Sandata's solutions later this summer. Sunshine Health was recently selected to support Florida's Medicaid Managed Care Long Term Services Program, and as such, will ensure quality oversight of home health services as well as adopt policies, procedures and controls for the prevention and detection of potential or suspected fraud and abuse. As a result, Sunshine Health is requiring that home health providers in the State of Florida use Sandata's EVV solutions. According to Glendon Schuster, SVP and Chief Technology Officer, "Centene is excited to partner with Sandata on our EVV initiative to support our focus on driving quality services in a challenging financial climate. Centene reviewed the landscape of technology providers, and chose Sandata to be its EVV partner due to the breadth of their technology and their proven experience working with payors such as Centene and multiple state Medicaid programs." According to Tom Underwood, Sandata's Chief Executive Officer, "Sandata is extremely proud to add our broad set of homecare technologies to Centene's portfolio of innovative solutions through the execution of this new agreement. We share Centene's commitment of delivering quality services to members in their home. Our common focus on maximizing the value of every home care encounter, along with our commitment to maximize the efficiency of the homecare industry, provides the basis for a strong partnership. As states continue to look toward Managed Medicaid as the optimal answer to their Long-Term Care concerns, the Centene-Sandata partnership will be a good example of Managed Medicaid Long-Term Care programs that create efficiencies, improve quality and thwart fraudulent practices."
