GE [NYSE: GE] Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt announced today the appointment of Susan P. Peters as Senior Vice President, Human Resources, succeeding John Lynch, who is retiring. Immelt also announced that Raghu Krishnamoorthy, Vice President of Human Resources for GE Aviation, will succeed Peters as head of Executive Development and Chief Learning Officer for GE, and that Ernest W. Marshall, Jr., Global Human Resources leader for Aviation Systems, will succeed Krishnamoorthy as Vice President of Human Resources for GE Aviation. The appointments are effective August 1, 2013. Peters, 60, a 34-year veteran of GE, has been responsible for talent identification, leadership development and succession planning for GE executives worldwide since 2001, and was named Chief Learning Officer in 2007. In that role she continued to enhance the company’s leadership development efforts, extending the reach of the Crotonville leadership learning institute as a global ideal of performance. “No one knows the culture and people of our company better than Susan,” said Immelt. “Under her leadership, GE has built on its proud tradition of developing the best leaders in business. Peters graduated from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, with a B.A. in English Literature and from the University of Virginia with a Master's of Education. Peters succeeds John Lynch, 60, who is retiring after 22 years with GE, serving in global roles first at GE Capital and then at GE Healthcare before moving to Corporate. Lynch has been head of Human Resources at GE since 2007.
