U.S. Bank has stepped up its support of small businesses in Wisconsin by sponsoring online workshops from the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center Network. Free to small business owners, the online workshops cover a number of topics including financial planning, creating a business plan, business management, technology development, marketing, regulatory compliance and international trade. These interactive multimedia workshops provide in-depth strategies, tools, processes and solutions that can help business owners grow and manage their businesses. U.S. Bank small business experts will also be available to advise small businesses owners one-on-one during workshops or seminars. Long-term business consulting is available at no cost through statewide SBDCs at four-year University of Wisconsin (UW) campuses. “It’s crucial for small businesses to have access to solid information and advice from trusted sources like the Wisconsin SBDC,” said Mike Ward, Milwaukee small business manager for U.S. Bank. “U.S. Bank is proud to partner with the SBDC to support valuable education and training that will help small businesses strengthen their businesses today and into the future.” The U.S. Bank-sponsored online training through the Wisconsin SBDC Network is available on the SBDC website at http://www.wisconsinsbdc.org/Training/Virtual-Advisor.htm. “Through no-cost, confidential consulting and low-cost business education, the Wisconsin SBDC provides the knowledge, tools and resources that business owners and entrepreneurs need to succeed,” said Gayle Kugler, State Director, Wisconsin SBDC Network. “These small businesses, in turn, foster local and regional economic development through job creation and retention.” The SBDCs at each of the four-year UW campuses provide consulting to companies with fewer than 500 employees on topics that include financial planning, capital acquisition, marketing, operations management and business formation. The Wisconsin SBDC is hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Extension and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. U.S. Bank is the No. 2 SBA lender in the country, and a top small business lender in Milwaukee. In addition to providing financing for small businesses, U.S. Bank hosts a website exclusively for small business owners called Connect ( www.usbankconnect.com). The bank also conducts an annual survey of small business owners that looks at their views of economic factors affecting their businesses. About U.S. Bank
