The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE:EL) announced today the appointment of Michael O’Hare as Executive Vice President, Global Human Resources. Mr. O’Hare will report jointly to William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman, and Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer. He assumes his new position on September 30, 2013.

After graduating from the University of Dundee in Scotland, he went on to receive a Masters of Economics from the London School of Economics and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. Mr. O’Hare will succeed Amy DiGeso, who is currently Executive Vice President, Global Human Resources. Ms. DiGeso has announced her intention to retire after almost a decade of successfully leading the Global Human Resources (HR) function at the Estée Lauder Companies. Ms. DiGeso and Mr. O’Hare will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition, and Ms. DiGeso will remain with the Company as Executive Vice President, Senior Advisor to the Executive Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer through June 30, 2014. “We are enormously grateful to Amy for the significant and enduring contributions that she has made to our Company,” said Mr. Lauder, “We wish her well in her retirement and are pleased that she will remain with us to help transition Michael into his new role.” Mr. Freda stated, “Amy has been an essential partner to me in the construction and implementation of our corporate alignment efforts.
