Throughout the day, 4,746,624 shares of Boeing exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 4,988,000 shares. The stock ranged in price between $98.05-$99.71 after having opened the day at $99.34 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $99.61. Other companies within the Aerospace/Defense industry that declined today were: Innovative Solutions and Support ( ISSC), down 4.4%, Sturm Ruger & Company ( RGR), down 4.4%, CAE ( CAE), down 3.2% and Frontline ( FRO), down 3.1%.

The Boeing Company, together with its subsidiaries, engages in the design, development, manufacture, sale, and support of commercial jetliners, military aircraft, satellites, missile defense, human space flight, and launch systems and services worldwide. Boeing has a market cap of $76.4 billion and is part of the industrial goods sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 18.9, above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 32.2% year to date as of the close of trading on Tuesday. Currently there are 17 analysts that rate Boeing a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and 4 rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Boeing as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its solid stock price performance, growth in earnings per share and increase in net income. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company shows low profit margins.

On the positive front, Breeze-Eastern Corporation ( BZC), down 4.0% and Astrotech Corporation ( ASTC), down 2.7%.
