Akamai Reaches New 52-Week High (AKAM)

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Akamai Technologies (Nasdaq: AKAM) hit a new 52-week high Tuesday as it is currently trading at $43.77, above its previous 52-week high of $43.68 with 948,626 shares traded as of 11:15 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 4.4 million shares over the past 30 days.

Akamai has a market cap of $7.58 billion and is part of the technology sector and internet industry. Shares are up 3.8% year to date as of the close of trading on Monday.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. provides content delivery and cloud infrastructure services for accelerating and improving the delivery of content and applications over the Internet in the United States and internationally. The company has a P/E ratio of 33.5, above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7.

TheStreet Ratings rates Akamai as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its increase in stock price during the past year, impressive record of earnings per share growth, compelling growth in net income, robust revenue growth and largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures.
