MILWAUKEE, April 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EthoStream, a division of Telkonet Inc. (OTC BB: TKOI) and one of the nation's largest hospitality high-speed internet access (HSIA) network providers, announced that Red Lion Hotels (NYSE: RLH) has contracted the HSIA provider for end-to-end upgrades of the wireless networks at corporate-owned sites. The hotelier will invest over half of a million dollars on new networks in the second quarter, bringing the hotels to the newest wireless standards. EthoStream initially installed Telkonet iWire PLC-networks and 802.11g wireless networks in all corporate-owned locations beginning in June 2008 and has been supporting the properties ever since. To provide superior service to their guests, Red Lion recognized the importance of an aggressive technology refresh cycle and will move forward with Ruckus 802.11n wireless networks at the properties. "Our guests expect a top-notch Internet experience while staying at our hotels. We commit ourselves to delivering all of the comforts of home, and in this case, that includes a great wireless Internet connection, whether for working on business, relaxing while viewing a video or staying caught up on social media," said Gordy Dhatt, Vice President, Information Technology for Red Lion Hotels. "Business travelers network — and when they do, one of the topics of discussion is always hotel Internet access. When we complete this project, we'll have significantly improved that aspect of our guest experience. We believe will lead to even stronger brand loyalty, and those networking conversations will be recommendation opportunities." The new networks have been designed to include 500 new access points featuring Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi technology. Each hotel network will be managed through a Ruckus ZoneDirector controller which will manage settings, coordinate channels, optimize wireless power output, and ensure seamless roaming throughout the hotel. EthoStream is one of a limited number of Ruckus Top Dog partners in the Hospitality industry.
