The iPhone maker's shares fell 3.25% to $392.95. Apple was also one of the most active premarket Nasdaq stocks on share volume of 1,479,963.

As well reporting its quarterly results on Tuesday, Apple announced plans to buy back an additional $50 billion in stock while raising its dividend by 15%.

AT&T ( T) shares were off 4.28% to $37.33, weighed down by the company's first-quarter revenue miss on Tuesday.

Broadcom ( BRCM), however, was a big winner, rising 5.06% to $34.65, lifted by the company's strong first-quarter results on Tuesday. The chip maker was another active pre-market Nasdaq stock on share volume of 224,198.
