Tesla Reaches New 52-Week High (TSLA)

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Tesla Motors (Nasdaq: TSLA) hit a new 52-week high Thursday as it is currently trading at $46.82, above its previous 52-week high of $46.68 with 977,712 shares traded as of 11:01 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 2.2 million shares over the past 30 days.

Tesla has a market cap of $5.22 billion and is part of the consumer goods sector and automotive industry. Shares are up 34.6% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday.

Tesla Motors, Inc. designs, develops, manufactures, and sells electric vehicles and electric vehicle powertrain components.

TheStreet Ratings rates Tesla as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth and solid stock price performance. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including generally higher debt management risk, disappointing return on equity and poor profit margins.
