DETROIT, April 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq:CPWR), the technology performance company, announced today that Telenor Shared Services (TSS), part of Telenor Group, one of the world's major mobile operators, has selected Compuware Changepoint for Project and Portfolio Management (PPM). Changepoint becomes one of three strategic enterprise applications to be delivered through Telenor's shared service organization to business units around the world. This helps Telenor Group realize its business strategy to build a new operating model centered on cost-efficient delivery of services. Changepoint PPM will be used globally by initially close to 3,500 Telenor project managers, telecom engineers, system engineers and resource managers. They will use Changepoint to plan, execute and manage the delivery of critical business projects, such as the roll-out of mobile phone spectrum and infrastructure, satellite broadcast services and field erection of relay stations. Changepoint will initially be deployed to project teams within five of Telenor's business units, with a subsequent phase rollout to additional business units in Asia and Europe. Changepoint will be deployed as a shared service in parallel to Telenor's other strategic SaaS applications -- Oracle Financials and Workday. Changepoint will be integrated with these systems to exchange project, financial and human resources information. "Reduction of complexity, standardization of products and adoption of best practice processes, technology and platforms will allow Telenor Shared Services to provide scalable solutions, enable efficient cross border operations and improve our ability to compete and deliver new services. The shared service operational model is instrumental in helping us realize these goals," said Ingrid R. Lorange, CEO, in Telenor Shared Services. "Changepoint will provide our Business Units with universal access to core applications in the areas of project and portfolio management, enterprise resource planning and human resources planning." "By providing Changepoint as one of our strategic and essential shared services, our project teams will have universal access to a world-class PPM solution with robust resource planning and management capabilities, allowing us to elevate our management abilities, achieve a consistent and more repeatable approach to project delivery, and realize greater efficiency and cost savings through more effective utilization within our global resource pool," said Morten Dean Dunham, VP and Head of Service Development and Implementation, Telenor. "TSS' visionary shared services model for PPM will enable business units around the globe to access essential services easily and cost effectively and, in turn, drive better business project outcomes on behalf of the business. In a marketplace that is increasingly competitive and price-sensitive, TSS recognizes that its ability to compete and win lies in operational effectiveness, economies of scale and the implementation of best practices. Changepoint will provide Telenor project teams with a springboard to greater efficiency, a consistent approach to project delivery and new levels of transparency into project progress and associated resource demands," said Lori Ellsworth, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Compuware Changepoint Business Unit.
