Sirius XM Radio Inc. provides satellite radio services in the United States and Canada. The company broadcasts music, sports, entertainment, comedy, talk, news, traffic, and weather channels on subscription fee basis through two satellite radio systems. Sirius XM Radio has a market cap of $20.53 billion and is part of the services sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 6.1, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 8.3% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday. Currently there are six analysts that rate Sirius XM Radio a buy, one analyst rates it a sell, and three rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Sirius XM Radio as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth, solid stock price performance, notable return on equity, expanding profit margins and good cash flow from operations. Although no company is perfect, currently we do not see any significant weaknesses which are likely to detract from the generally positive outlook.

On the positive front, Sinclair Broadcast Group ( SBGI), up 16.5%, Spanish Broadcasting System ( SBSA), up 15.4%, Dex One ( DEXO), up 15%, and NTN Buzztime ( NTN), up 7.6%, were all gainers within the media industry with Liberty Media Corporation ( LMCA) being today's featured media industry leader.

For investors not wanting singular stock exposure, ETFs may be of interest. Investors who are bullish on the media industry could consider PowerShares Dynamic Media ( PBS) while those bearish on the media industry could consider ProShares Ultra Sht Consumer Services ( SCC).
