NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.16 or 4.0 percent, to $3.81.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.17 or 1.1 percent, to $15.42.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.38 or 3.9 percent, to $9.48.

Silver Wheaton fell $1.28 or 4.3 percent, to $28.58.
