NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.03 or .8 percent, to $3.73.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.31 or 2.0 percent, to $15.04.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.21 or 2.2 percent, to $9.34.

Silver Wheaton fell $.32 or 1.1 percent, to $28.75.
