NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Hecla Mining fell $.07 or 1.8 percent, to $3.81.

Pan American Silver fell $.72 or 4.5 percent, to $15.22.

Silver Standard fell $.35 or 3.4 percent, to $9.89.

Silver Wheaton fell $1.34 or 4.3 percent, to $29.47.
