NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 10 a.m.:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.05 or 1.1 percent, to $3.91.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.21 or 1.3 percent, to $16.17.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.13 or 1.2 percent, to $10.42.

Silver Wheaton fell $.35 or 1.1 percent, to $31.00.
