State Unemployment Rates For February, At A Glance

Unemployment rates fell in 22 states in February from January, as the nation's job market showed steady improvement.

The Labor Department said unemployment rates rose in 12 states and were unchanged in 16.

Nationally, the unemployment rate dipped to 7.7 percent in February â¿¿ lowest since December 2008 â¿¿ from 7.9 percent in January. Since November, employers across the country have added 200,000 jobs a month, double the pace of hiring last spring.
