NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Banco Santander (NYSE: SAN) is trading at unusually high volume Tuesday with 12.8 million shares changing hands. It is currently at 2.8 times its average daily volume and trading down 18 cents (-2.5%) at $6.86 as of 2 p.m. ET.

Banco Santander has a market cap of $73.93 billion and is part of the financial sector and banking industry. Shares are down 14% year to date as of the close of trading on Monday.

Banco Santander-Chile provides commercial and retail banking services to corporate and individual customers in Chile.
