PARIS, March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MIPTV is teaming with YouTube to propose the inaugural Original Online Content Screenings, which offer a unique showcase for a whole new generation of creative producers who are redefining content and the future of TV. Organised by Reed MIDEM, MIPTV will take place in Cannes from 8-11 April, 2013. Among the online content creators to take part, Christian Stevenson, aka DJ BBQ, the roving barbecue-meister from Jamie Oliver's Food Tube. He will be serving up a smorgasbord of excerpts from the YouTube channel, which features great recipes and cookery tidbits from the UK celebrity chef and some of his friends. Philip Laude, creator of Germany's Ponk, will present the largest non-English-language original channel on YouTube, offering a blend of comedy and real-life escapades of five young people sharing a flat in Cologne. He will also introduce Y-Titty, the most-subscribed German-language channel on YouTube, a crazy comedy mix by three young guys who do song parodies and spoof commercials. Talented make-up artists Sam and Nic Chapman will demonstrate their UK make-up tips channel Pixiwoo, which has gained massive popularity with some 6.5 millions views a month. On a very different tack, Tim "Livewire" Shieff will introduce the channel on which he stars, Flow - The Parkour Network, the number-one channel for urban sports. Lorenzo Benedetti, President, The Social Company Production, will provide a taste of Studio Bagel, a comedy channel offering parodies, skits and fake trailers which is gaining considerable traction in the online community in its native France. Also from France, Adrien Labastire, Deputy Manager of Golden Moustache, will be unleashing a salvo from this new French-language digital comedy platform offering videos, articles and photos, which is distributed both on its own website and on YouTube, and is soon to be broadcast on French channel W9. "The Original Online Content Screenings set out to show the wider TV community the dynamic and innovative creativity that is abundant in the online arena, and to encourage the exchange between these web-based channels and other platforms," commented Laurine Garaude, Director of Television Division at Reed MIDEM.
