Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. develops and distributes anti-aging personal care products and nutritional supplements under the Nu Skin and Pharmanex brands worldwide. Nu Skin has a market cap of $2.43 billion and is part of the consumer non-durables industry. The company has a P/E ratio of 11.8, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 10.9% year to date as of the close of trading on Wednesday. Currently there are seven analysts that rate Nu Skin a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and none rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Nu Skin as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, notable return on equity, attractive valuation levels and impressive record of earnings per share growth. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company has had lackluster performance in the stock itself.

On the negative front, Movado Group ( MOV), down 10.5%, Tianli Agritech ( OINK), down 10.2%, CTI Industries Corporation ( CTIB), down 8.3%, and Central European Distribution ( CEDC), down 8%, were all laggards within the consumer goods sector with Constellation Brands ( STZ) being today's consumer goods sector laggard.

For investors not wanting singular stock exposure, ETFs may be of interest. Investors who are bullish on the consumer goods sector could consider iShares Dow Jones US Cons Goods ( IYK) while those bearish on the consumer goods sector could consider ProShares Ultra Sht Consumer Goods ( SZK).
