This award is known as the GSA Region 4 Integrated Telecommunications Services (GRITS) II Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Fixed Price with an Economic Price Adjustment (EPA) Multiple-Award contract. The GRITS II IDIQ multiple award contract vehicle allows tw telecom to bid on Federal government voice, data and Internet solutions opportunities and for multi-site solutions that originate within the southeast region across the United States. The base term of the GSA contract is for four years with potential value of $550 million. Terms of the agreement call for up to two 3-year options to extend the term of the contract to ten years. Shares of Level 3 Communications (LVLT) are now down on very heavy trading volume after the integrated communications services firm earlier said it will buy Internet services provider TW Telecom (TWTC) for over $5.6 billion.
