DALLAS, March 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Oncor hosted its annual Supplier Diversity Awards Recognition luncheon today, honoring business partners and employees with the company's highest supplier diversity award, the Omnis Award. (Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20120402/DA80968LOGO) More than 200 business leaders and Oncor Supplier Diversity participants attended the event, which included remarks by Oncor Chairman and CEO Bob Shapard and Oncor Chief Operating Officer Jim Greer. In his opening remarks, Greer explained how the work with our diverse partners continues to contribute to Oncor's goal of a creating a brighter future for Texas. "Oncor is a company that truly cares about the communities where our employees live and work," he said. The Omnis Award is given each year to companies who show excellence in supplier diversity, business efforts and community outreach. This year's Omnis Awards went to three businesses: Hazel's Hot Shot, accepted by President Hazel Marshall; Imagination Branding, accepted by Owner Jan Nathanson, and TexCorp Communications, accepted by Chairman and CEO Don McKneely. The Corporate Rising Star Award was given to CCCi and accepted by owner and CEO Charleen McBrayer. CCCi is a recent technology partner for Oncor that has demonstrated a commitment to diversity within their business and has also made a clear commitment to community outreach. Oncor also gave out two internal awards. The Group Award went to Oncor's Communications group for their constant efforts to get Oncor's supplier diversity programs recognized in the media and among employees, as well as their use of diverse suppliers for communications projects.
