Salesforce.com ( CRM) shares jumped on Friday following better-than-expected fourth-quarter results.

Excluding items, the company reported earnings of 51 cents a share on $835 million in revenue on Thursday, boosted by strength in software and services. Wall Street analysts were expecting EPS of 40 cents and sales of $830.8 million.

The company's stock gained 6.7% during the week's trading to close at $182.
