NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.13 or 2.6 percent, to $4.80.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.31 or 1.8 percent, to $16.90.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.16 or 1.5 percent, to $10.65.

Silver Wheaton fell $.26 or .8 percent, to $32.34.
