DTS, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio technologies and audio enhancement solutions, today announced that it has partnered with Saffron Digital, which delivers a compelling streaming media experience across all connected devices. DTS and Saffron are collaborating to help content providers and operators differentiate their content on mobile devices by delivering a higher quality experience to the consumer. The solution will be demonstrated at the DTS stand (Hall 5, Stand 5D40) during Mobile World Congress 2013. The joint offering combines the DTS-HD® codec—an industry standard audio codec, capable of delivering an immersive experience with amazing sound to connected devices—with Saffron Digital’s safe and secure video content delivery service. It will enable content providers, retailers and operators alike to drive additional consumer value by delivering an outstanding audio experience from the studio all the way to the ear. “We believe that audio is a key differentiator for our customers, particularly on mobile and tablet devices, and working with experts like DTS allows us to deliver them unmatched solutions,” said Jason Keane, CEO, Saffron Digital. “It has been great to work with DTS, who clearly understand the value of delivering an end-to-end experience from the content creator to the consumer.” At MWC 2013, show-goers will be able to experience pristine DTS-encoded audio paired to UltraViolet™ (UV) compliant content, delivered securely through Saffron Digital’s mobile client. The demonstration will showcase the seamless integration of DTS audio technologies and how they deliver outstanding sound via mobile devices over headphones or any connected audio/video receiver. “As more people than ever before are consuming media on their mobile devices, they are also demanding a greater audio experience. Since graphic capabilities have become so advanced, mobile audio as we knew it is no longer good enough,” said Brian Towne, executive vice president & chief operating officer at DTS. “Our partnership with Saffron Digital is a key way to give customers what they want. The DTS solution can be easily integrated into the Saffron service so those listening and watching on their mobile device will have a superior experience, unlike any other.”
Investors considering a purchase of DTS Inc shares, but tentative about paying the going market price of $30.03/share, might benefit from considering selling puts among the alternative strategies at their disposal. One interesting put contract in particular, is the June put at the $25 strike, which has a bid at the time of this writing of $1.05.
