ScanSource Communications Expands Education Offering, Named First North American Polycom Authorized Training Partner

ScanSource Communications, a leading value-added distributor of communications products and a sales unit of ScanSource, Inc., (Nasdaq: SCSC), has been named the first North American Authorized Training Partner for Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM), the global leader in open standards-based unified communications and collaboration (UC&C). The Authorized Training Partner program empowers select Polycom distributor partners, with a demonstrated expertise in the Polycom® RealPresence® Platform software infrastructure, to offer classes and trainings to certify reseller partners on Polycom® RealPresence® solutions. Through this designation, ScanSource Communications is able to rapidly expand its education and training offering for Polycom solutions.

The Authorized Training Partner program is a key initiative for ScanSource Services Group, which focuses on the creation and implementation of unique and custom value-added support programs and services for ScanSource’s reseller partners. As an Authorized Training Partner, ScanSource Communications can provide easy access to training and greater flexibility on scheduling and locations for resellers. These certifications are important for resellers looking to implement and support the Polycom solutions they sell.

“We are excited to serve as Polycom’s first Authorized Training Partner in North America as we are committed to providing the services and support that will enable our resellers to deliver more comprehensive Polycom solutions to their end-user customers,” said Brian Cuppett, vice president of merchandising, ScanSource Communications. “This level of support allows resellers to strengthen their relationships and enhance their service offering.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome ScanSource as the first North America member of our new Authorized Training Partner program,” said Ron Myers, senior vice president, Worldwide Channels at Polycom. “We’ve designed the Authorized Training Partner program to deliver the training needed to achieve the sales and service objectives in our theatres, to deliver high-value collaboration solutions to our joint customers, and to give our partners effective tools to grow their video collaboration business.”
