BEAVERTON, Ore., Feb. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --Audio Precision (AP), the recognized standard in audio test equipment, today announced a collaboration with Dolby Laboratories, Inc. to provide automated test projects for Dolby technology compliance testing to manufacturers of Dolby-licensed audio products. AP audio analyzers are widely used to develop products that require Dolby compliance testing. AP introduced the first multichannel audio analyzer with a native HDMI interface in 2009, and the consumer audio majors quickly adopted it as the standard for testing set-top boxes, multichannel receivers, flatscreen TVs and other HDMI-dependent devices. Thanks to the collaboration with AP, Dolby licensees will have access to APx audio analyzer test projects created by AP's application engineering department in conjunction with Dolby's compliance engineering team. The projects automate and streamline the manual test process, thus reducing the test time and opportunity for error. "With complex projects like these Dolby compliance tests, it makes sense to do it once, and do it right," says Dave Schmoldt, President of Audio Precision. "By working directly with Dolby engineers, we save our customers days of manual, non-innovative work and get their new products to market faster. Everyone wins." "We are always looking for ways to strengthen and improve service to our customers," said Mathias Bendull, Senior Director, Broadcast Consumer Audio, Dolby Laboratories. "Our collaboration with Audio Precision enables a simplified and more efficient compliance testing process for licensees, without compromising the highest quality and the sustained integrity of the Dolby brand." Price & Availability Dolby test projects for Audio Precision analyzers are available exclusively from Dolby as part of the deliverables included in Dolby System Development Kits (SDK) for specific Dolby technologies. The projects are provided at no charge, but do require the appropriate AP audio analyzer to run.
