By the end of trading, LinkedIn rose $2.71 (1.8%) to $157.71 on average volume. Throughout the day, 2.6 million shares of LinkedIn exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 1.9 million shares. The stock ranged in a price between $154.10-$157.77 after having opened the day at $154.81 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $155. Other companies within the Internet industry that increased today were: Trulia ( TRLA), up 21.9%, Deltathree ( DDDC), up 15.4%, MeetMe ( MEET), up 13.8%, and LookSmart ( LOOK), up 6.7%.

LinkedIn Corporation operates an online professional network. LinkedIn has a market cap of $13.55 billion and is part of the technology sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 174.6, above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 35.4% year to date as of the close of trading on Tuesday. Currently there are 13 analysts that rate LinkedIn a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and 14 rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates LinkedIn as a sell. The area that we feel has been the company's primary weakness has been its disappointing return on equity.
