Pope Benedict XVI to Resign for Health Reasons

NEW YORK -- Pope Benedict XVI will step down for health reasons on Feb. 28, a Vatican spokesman said Monday.

Pope Benedict, 85, served for eight years.

The Vatican spokesman said a new pope should be in place before Easter.
