(Nasdaq:ISSI), a leader in advanced memory and analog IC solutions, today introduced the IS31LT3916 a high performance LED driver for solid-state lighting (SSL) applications. With an input operating voltage range from 85 to 265VAC, a Power Factor Correction greater than 0.95 and a typical current accuracy of +/-3%, the IS31LT3916 is ideally suited for isolated lighting fixture designs which meet UL compliance for galvanic isolation. The IS31LT3916 is a fixed-frequency, peak current mode controller designed to deliver highly accurate current regulation at a constant power to the LED load. Designs utilizing this device will maintain current accuracy without any type of secondary side feedback such as an opto-coupler while being insensitive to external component tolerances. The device has an automatic correction for peak current threshold that keeps the current constant with varying line voltage while maintaining high power factor. In addition, the IS31LT3916 LED driver incorporates many features such as soft-start, Vcc undervoltage lockout with hysteresis, and protections against output over-voltage, output open and short circuit, primary side over-current and thermal shutdown with hysteresis enabling a robust and reliable system solution.
