NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.13 or 2.4 percent, to $5.32.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.16 or .9 percent, to $17.65.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.25 or 2.0 percent, to $12.33.

Silver Wheaton fell $.96 or 2.7 percent, to $34.25.
