The four-mile run organized by New York Road Runners is held at midnight each New Year's Eve in New York City and features a large fireworks display and a costume contest. Emerald Nuts, the title sponsor of the New Year's event for the past nine years, also provided runners and spectators with Emerald products and prizes throughout the night.
