HDMI Licensing, LLC, the agent responsible for licensing the High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI®) Specification on behalf of the HDMI Founders, today marked the 10-year milestone of the release of the first HDMI Specification. Since its introduction in 2003, the HDMI Specification has been licensed by more than 1,300 HDMI Adopters who have gone on to manufacture over 3 billion HDMI-enabled products. What began as a way to simplify the mass of cables for connecting home theatre equipment has expanded to include a broad array of devices in markets and applications beyond the home—including automobiles, traditional B2B environments and mobile devices, all with the crystal clear digital-quality and single-cable simplicity consumers have come to expect. The HDMI Specification’s entire ecosystem — 3 billion devices based on ever-improving technology, backward compatibility, product interoperability and worldwide testing, compliance and enforcement resources — makes it a preferred and profitable option for an ever increasing set of manufacturers. “With over 1,300 Adopters and 3 billion devices shipped, the penetration of the HDMI interface in consumer electronics, PC, and mobile devices is nothing short of a phenomenon,” stated Steve Venuti, president of HDMI Licensing, LLC. “We look for continued success as more and more products are connected to transmit and receive high definition content.” Update on the status of the next version of the HDMI Specification The HDMI Forum, Inc. was launched in October 2011 to allow for broad industry participation in the development of the future versions of the HDMI Specification. Currently, its 83 Members are actively and collectively working on finalizing the next version of the HDMI Specification. HDMI Forum, Inc. has targeted the first half of 2013 for the release of the next version of the HDMI Specification. HDMI Tech Zone at the 2013 International CES in Las Vegas, Nevada – January 8-11, 2013 The HDMI TechZone, which features new products from HDMI Adopters, is located at LVCC South Hall 1. Consumers, installers, press and analysts can meet with HDMI Licensing, LLC marketing and compliance executives and staff at the HDMI TechZone Booth 21112.
Investors considering a purchase of Silicon Image Inc shares, but cautious about paying the going market price of $5.90/share, might benefit from considering selling puts among the alternative strategies at their disposal. One interesting put contract in particular, is the June put at the $5 strike, which has a bid at the time of this writing of 25 cents.
