Plantronics, Inc. (NYSE:PLT) today announced that Genevieve Haldeman has been named vice president of global communications. Haldeman will be responsible for driving the communications strategy worldwide, guiding executive communications, and setting the strategy for public and analyst relations, and social media engagement. She will work closely with Plantronics leadership on new efforts to reach business and consumer audiences. “Genevieve comes to us with a track record of leading successful communication programs at companies that lead their markets,” said Marilyn Mersereau, chief marketing officer at Plantronics. “We’re confident she will bring the same creativity and drive to strengthen the Plantronics brand worldwide.” Haldeman brings a wealth of expertise to Plantronics based on a successful career that spans enterprise, consumer and security technologies. She has been a communications professional for more than 20 years, which has included executive roles and worldwide responsibilities at industry leaders Symantec and SAP. Most recently, Haldeman was vice president of global communications at Webroot, a software company that provides Internet security solutions for consumers and small and medium businesses. “I am excited to join such a recognized industry leader that is setting the pace for what is to come in wearable technology,” said Haldeman. “With a long history of innovation in the audio experience for both consumers and enterprise customers, Plantronics is poised to lead the industry in unified communications and beyond.” During her career, Haldeman has successfully developed and executed communications strategies for global positioning, executive thought leadership and mergers and acquisitions, among other corporate issues. While at Symantec, she managed communications for the merger between Symantec and VERITAS, a multi-billion dollar transaction that was the second largest software merger at the time. Haldeman has won numerous professional awards from the International Association of Business Communicators, Public Relations Society of America, PR Source Code and YWCA of Silicon Valley.
