Other companies within the Real Estate industry that increased today were: IFM Investments ( CTC), up 7.3%, China Housing & Land Development ( CHLN), up 6.7%, Elbit Imaging ( EMITF), up 6.2%, and Gyrodyne Company of America ( GYRO), up 5.1%.

Public Storage operates as a real estate investment trust (REIT). It engages in the acquisition, development, ownership, and operation of self-storage facilities in the United States and Europe. Public Storage has a market cap of $23.95 billion and is part of the financial sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 39.1, above the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 3.8% year to date as of the close of trading on Friday. Currently there are four analysts that rate Public Storage a buy, two analysts rate it a sell, and 11 rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Public Storage as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its increase in stock price during the past year, impressive record of earnings per share growth, increase in net income, revenue growth and expanding profit margins. Although no company is perfect, currently we do not see any significant weaknesses which are likely to detract from the generally positive outlook.
