NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies are down at 1 p.m.:

Hecla Mining Co. fell $.22 or 3.8 percent, to $5.57.

Pan American Silver Corp. fell $1.04 or 5.3 percent, to $18.69.

Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.55 or 3.6 percent, to $14.82.

Silver Wheaton fell $1.29 or 3.4 percent, to $36.71.
