Check Point Software Technologies has a market cap of $9.5 billion and is part of the computer software & services industry. The company has a P/E ratio of 16.4, below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are down 12.8% year to date as of the close of trading on Thursday. Currently there are 14 analysts that rate Check Point Software Technologies a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and eight rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Check Point Software Technologies as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, notable return on equity, reasonable valuation levels and impressive record of earnings per share growth. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company has had lackluster performance in the stock itself.

On the negative front, Renewable Energy Trade Board ( EBOD), down 43.7%, NTELOS Holdings ( NTLS), down 20.2%, BOS Better Online Solutions ( BOSC), down 19.9%, and iGo ( IGOI), down 15.2%, were all laggards within the technology sector with Citrix Systems ( CTXS) being today's technology sector laggard.
