Flowers Foods ( FLO) is considered a likely bidder of some of the assets of Hostess, the maker of Twinkies that was granted permission from the courts last week to wind down its operations. Flowers is the second-largest baker in the U.S.
Baxter International ( BAX)is in talks to buy Swedish medical-equipment maker Gambro for roughly $4 billion, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter, in a move that would boost Baxter's kidney-dialysis business.
