The industry as a whole closed the day down 0.3%. By the end of trading, Intel fell 74 cents (-3.6%) to $19.51 on heavy volume. Throughout the day, 85.3 million shares of Intel exchanged hands as compared to its average daily volume of 48.9 million shares. The stock ranged in price between $19.35-$19.88 after having opened the day at $19.88 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $20.25. Other companies within the Electronics industry that declined today were: Superconductor Technologies ( SCON), down 34.2%, Digital Power Corporation ( DPW), down 28.3%, Spire Corporation ( SPIR), down 18.4%, and Chipmos Technologies Bermuda ( IMOS), down 11%.
