Hyatt today announced that the Chicago Tribune has named Hyatt and its Chicagoland hotels as the number two workplace in Chicago. This is the company’s highest ranking to date on the “Top 100 Workplaces” list of large companies, which is determined through a survey of employees from more than 250 local companies. Individual Chicago-area Hyatt hotels have been recognized in past years in the midsize and small categories for being a top employer but this is the first year that all Hyatt locations are being recognized together by the Chicago Tribune. More than 3,600 local Hyatt associates, across eight Chicagoland Hyatt hotels and the company’s corporate headquarters downtown, credited Hyatt for its strong values and ethics, positive and supportive management team, clear communications, quality job training, and excellent pay and benefits. “At Hyatt, the satisfaction and wellbeing of our associates is fundamental to the success of our business because they are the ones who provide hospitality to our guests each day,” said Doug Patrick, senior vice president of human resources, Americas, for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “Our core values of mutual respect, honesty and integrity, humility, creativity, innovation, and fun guide our ongoing efforts to become the most preferred company for our associates. I’m proud of the quality workplace environment we’ve built at Hyatt and look forward to continuing to empower our associates and to support their development.” In addition to Hyatt’s corporate office, Hyatt hotels included in the honor this year include Hyatt Regency Chicago, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Park Hyatt Chicago, The Hyatt Lodge, Hyatt Place Chicago/Hoffman Estates, Hyatt Place Chicago/Itasca, and Hyatt Place Chicago/Lombard/Oakbrook. The Chicago Tribune commissioned research firm Workplace Dynamics to conduct the Top Workplaces study. Based on a nomination process, Workplace Dynamics coordinated an exclusive and confidential survey of thousands of Chicago-area employees to determine what companies would be named to the Top Workplaces List. Benefits Inside and Outside the Workplace Hyatt provides industry-leading wage and benefits packages, including health care coverage and wellness programs for employees and their families, as well as generous retirement contributions. Additionally, Hyatt employees receive perks such as free or subsidized meals during their workday, and discounted or free stays at Hyatt properties throughout the world.
In addition to providing great benefits in the workplace, Hyatt offers associates various ways to find satisfaction contributing within the greater Chicagoland community, while at the same time helping to develop the next generation of Hyatt associates.Through Hyatt Thrive, the company’s corporate responsibility platform, Hyatt works with local associates to make impactful contributions, both in funds and manpower, to various local initiatives.
