NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies were down at the close of trading: Hecla Mining Co. fell $.28 or 4.2 percent, to $6.35. Pan American Silver Corp. fell $.87 or 3.8 percent, to $21.75. Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.71 or 4.6 percent, to $14.89. Silver Wheaton fell $1.65 or 4.0 percent, to $39.49.
