The stock ranged in a price between $43.35-$45.57 after having opened the day at $44.39 as compared to the previous trading day's close of $43.54. Other companies within the Aerospace/Defense industry that increased today were: TAT Technologies ( TATT), up 2.9%, Breeze-Eastern Corporation ( BZC), up 1.9%, and Taser International ( TASR), up 1.6%.

BE Aerospace, Inc. designs, manufactures, sells, and services commercial aircraft and business jet cabin interior products worldwide. B/E Aerospace has a market cap of $4.51 billion and is part of the industrial goods sector. The company has a P/E ratio of 16.9, equal to the average aerospace/defense industry P/E ratio and below the S&P 500 P/E ratio of 17.7. Shares are up 12.1% year to date as of the close of trading on Monday. Currently there are 11 analysts that rate B/E Aerospace a buy, no analysts rate it a sell, and three rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates B/E Aerospace as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its robust revenue growth, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, impressive record of earnings per share growth, compelling growth in net income and good cash flow from operations. Although no company is perfect, currently we do not see any significant weaknesses which are likely to detract from the generally positive outlook.

On the negative front, Aerosonic Corporation ( AIM), down 6.1%, Astrotech Corporation ( ASTC), down 4.9%, AAR ( AIR), down 3%, and TransDigm Group ( TDG), down 2.4%, were all laggards within the aerospace/defense industry with Raytheon Company ( RTN) being today's aerospace/defense industry laggard.

For investors not wanting singular stock exposure, ETFs may be of interest. Investors who are bullish on the aerospace/defense industry could consider iShares DJ US Aerospace & Def Idx ( ITA) while those bearish on the aerospace/defense industry could consider ProShares Short Dow 30 ( DOG).
