Mid Dakota Clinic Selects Athenahealth To Help Achieve Comprehensive Patient Care

athenahealth, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATHN), a leading provider of cloud-based practice management, electronic health record ( EHR), and care coordination services to medical groups, today announced that Mid Dakota Clinic, a multi-specialty practice serving Bismarck and its neighboring rural region, will implement athenahealth’s integrated, cloud-based services to drive better practice management, care coordination and patient care across its clinics. With the addition of Mid Dakota Clinic, athenahealth’s services have now been selected by health care providers across all 48 states in the continental U.S.—bringing athenahealth closer to its vision to create “the nation’s information backbone to make health care work as it should.”

Mid Dakota Clinic, comprised of more than 60 health care providers, offers a wide array of health care services to an ever-growing population of rural patients in central and western North Dakota. The implementation of athenahealth’s Best in KLAS EHR service, athenaClinicals ®; its streamlined medical billing and practice management service, athenaCollector ®; and its patient communications service, athenaCommunicator ®, will enable Mid Dakota Clinic to streamline the administrative headaches that result from regulation, such as the impending transition to ICD-10 and achieving Meaningful Use Stage 2 requirements, and also provide their physicians with tools to more efficiently communicate with their patients before, during, and after an exam.

“Having provided care to the Bismarck-Mandan area for many years, our organization is woven into the DNA of this region,” said Jeff Neuberger, CEO of Mid Dakota Clinic PrimeCare. “But in order to ensure we can continue to flourish amidst a changing health care environment and an ever growing population which includes young, tech-savvy families, implementing practice management and care coordination services is more necessary than ever before. Our physicians are constantly striving to keep up with burdensome regulation and administrative tasks that take away from their ability to treat more patients and provide better care. With athenahealth, we believe we’ve found a partner with both a smarter technological solution and a service philosophy to help us better manage the administrative hurdles of care delivery today and as our industry only grows more complicated.”
