Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it is a member of the joint venture team that was awarded a final design contract by Sound Transit of Seattle, Wash. for its East Link light rail extension. H-J-H Final Design Partners (H-J-H) is a joint venture of HNTB, Jacobs and Hatch Mott MacDonald. The Sound Transit contract awarded to H-J-H is valued at $88 million. Under the terms of the contract, H-J-H is delivering approximately seven miles of double-track light rail transit, eight stations, a cut-and-cover tunnel in downtown Bellevue, and long-span bridge crossings over interstates 405 and 90 for the South Bellevue to Overlake Transit Center portion of the East Link extension. In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Kevin McMahon stated, “We are delighted to be on the final design team selected by Sound Transit for this project.
