OTTAWA, Oct. 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mitel® (Nasdaq:MITL) (TSX:MNW), a leading provider of unified communications and collaboration software solutions, has strengthened its North American channel and sales management team with the appointment of Jeff Nolan as vice president of Channel Development for North America and Tom Lang as vice president of Canadian Sales. These appointments reinforce Mitel's 3+1 strategic plan introduced in 2011, which has seen the company retool its sales organization to better align with a stronger and more focused channel program. With Mitel's channel-centric go-to-market model now well established in North America, Jeff Nolan moves into a newly created position as vice president of Channel Development. In this role Mr. Nolan is responsible for strategic channel management, ongoing development of new channel partnerships, recruitment strategies, and all operational aspects of channel program delivery in the region. Mr. Nolan previously spent six years as head of Mitel sales in Canada where he and his team established the company as the country's clear number-two business communications vendor with 25 percent market share for IP desktop extensions, according to the most recent (Q2 2012) report published by MZA Ltd. Mr. Nolan also previously served as Mitel's regional sales director for the northeastern United States. Tom Lang joins Mitel as vice president of Canadian Sales and brings more than 20 years of sales management experience in both the Canadian and US technology sectors. Mr. Lang comes to Mitel from Bell Canada where he most recently held the position of general manager, Bell Business Markets in Ontario, generating year-over-year business growth and expansion. In addition, Mr. Lang brings to Mitel extensive experience leading software sales teams at Parametric Technology Corporation and Selectica to double-digit growth. During his tenure at Bell, he also held senior positions within Bell Gateways, the small medium business (SMB) market, as well as Professional and Consulting Services.
