NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies were down at the close of trading: Hecla Mining Co. fell $.16 or 2.3 percent, to $6.67. Pan American Silver Corp. fell $1.38 or 6.1 percent, to $21.08. Silver Standard Resources Inc. fell $.94 or 5.6 percent, to $15.82. Silver Wheaton fell $1.57 or 3.9 percent, to $38.34.
