Since joining Eli Lilly in 1998, she has held a variety of legal positions for the global pharmaceutical company, gaining valuable experience in another highly regulated sector. Earlier in her career, Cotton Santos served as a prosecutor in the Office of the Circuit Attorney for the City of St. Louis, where she tried criminal cases. Cotton Santos graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wellesley College (Mass.) and later earned her juris doctor (J.D.) from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.
