NEW YORK (AP) â¿¿ Shares of some top silver companies were up at the close of trading: Hecla Mining Co. rose $.25 or 4.8 percent, to $5.41. Pan American Silver Corp. rose $.91 or 5.5 percent, to $17.60. Silver Standard Resources Inc. rose $1.09 or 7.9 percent, to $14.83. Silver Wheaton rose $1.71 or 5.2 percent, to $34.60.
