DTS Adds Surround Sound Experience To Yulong’s Coolpad™ Quattro 4G Smartphone

DTS, Inc. (Nasdaq: DTSI), a leader in high-definition audio, today announced the integration of DTS Sound into the Coolpad™ Quattro 4G smartphone, manufactured by Yulong Computer Communications (Shenzhen). Available now from service provider MetroPCS, the 4G LTE smartphone marks the first Coolpad device in the U.S. that features DTS Sound, supporting a high-quality listening experience—anytime, anywhere.

“As consumer demand for high-definition audio escalates, we look for partnerships that improve customer audio experience and differentiate our smartphones from other products,” said Mr. Chengli, brand director at Yulong. “Adding DTS’ mobile audio enhancement solution to the Coolpad Quattro 4G smartphone delivers pristine sound and provides customers an immersive entertainment experience via their mobile devices.”

The DTS Sound maximizes the acoustic power of the Coolpad Quattro 4G smartphone, providing crystal-clear and high-definition audio for applications such as watching videos, listening to music and gaming. The embedded audio solution creates a surround sound effect that delivers depth and dimensionality, enhancing the consumer audio experience.

“DTS is proud to continue its rapid penetration into the mobile space by partnering with one of China’s leading mobile phone manufacturers,” said Roy Law, president of DTS Greater China Region. “We are pleased to continue our collaboration with a forward-thinking company like Yulong, which is committed to creating mobile devices that deliver the highest-quality sound to consumers.”
