Columbia Management today announced the appointment of Zach Pandl as Senior Interest Rate Strategist, a newly-created position at the firm. Mr. Pandl assumes the lead role on the Columbia Management Interest Rate Committee, responsible for formulating and articulating the firm’s view on interest rate policies of the U.S. and other G10 nations. Prior to joining Columbia Management, Mr. Pandl was Senior Economist at Goldman Sachs, responsible for original research on the US economy and interest rates, generation of rate-related trade ideas for the market strategy team, and the development of proprietary analytical tools. Previously, he held positions as an economist at Nomura Securities and Lehman Brothers. "Zach has an impressive background conducting and publishing primary research and creating sophisticated analytical tools," said Colin Lundgren, head of fixed income at Columbia Management. "His experience and skill set are a tremendous addition to our team." Mr. Pandl earned a Masters of Economics degree from NYU. He will be based in Minneapolis.
