AVG Technologies (NYSE: AVG), a leading provider of Internet and mobile security, today announced the opening of new technical support centers in the Charlotte, N.C. area and in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. The new facilities will play a key part in AVG’s strategy for growing its small business customer base in North America. The new U.S.-based support centers will provide in-country support for AVG’s network of North American channel partners. The initiative involves some of AVG’s international-based support resources to give North American channel partners the benefit of technical expertise and advice from locally trained U.S. professionals. The Florida operation is located in the former offices of BSecure, a Software-as-a-Service content filtering and family safety provider acquired by AVG last year while the North Carolina offices are home to AVG’s channel sales teams. “We have listened to our channel partners and reorganized our support capabilities to insure they have immediate access to the best technical help available,” said Luke Walling, vice president sales and operations, SMB at AVG. “Every member of the management team within our Florida and North Carolina offices comes from a reseller background and has a personal understanding of the issues channel partners face day in and day out. Team members have a personal stake in AVG's objective of answering calls on the first ring, that no one is redirected to voicemail and that customers will always get through to a real person.” “Our small business partners are vital to AVG’s growth – their success is our success. As a result, we have a strong track record of serving them,” said Mike Foreman, senior vice president global sales at AVG. “We want to help partners evolve commercially, work efficiently, and be profitable. The team at our new North American technical support center is hand-picked to help partners deliver right-sized security solutions for the small business market.” About AVG www.avg.com AVG’s mission is to simplify, optimize and secure the Internet experience, providing peace of mind to a connected world.
